Know About Shimla Tours

India– The stories of which hailed from its beautiful past and still continues to maintain its stand for being an incredible country.

In furtherance to my previous blog let’s explore Himachal once more, but this time with an experience on our road trip to Shimla.

This trip was an unplanned one.  At night with a pretty lazy packing, we managed to get up early morning to start our trip. We geared up to begin on our road journey from Delhi to a heaven in Himalaya’s; Shimla around 6’ish. Mesmerising the cake walk on highway we decided to stop only once near a food joint for breakfast and took the speed. Crossing Rohtak, Panipath and Chandigarh, we were about to hit the hills. In a summerish morning on our way from Panchkula we entered this heavenly gate with a refreshing breeze, rain, cool winds, greenery all around and that’s what took away our attention.

The weather was in full swing, to welcome the travellers.  As it was my first time to experience the hills and the views of Shimla so closely while enjoying the ride, we wanted to stopover and experience this brilliance of the nature to capture every moment of picturesque hills, chilling winds making their way from hills, dipping temperature, rain showers and a slight sun shine with us. What we experienced, cannot be explained but worth sharing.

Around 14:00 hrs we reached Shimla, checked-in at our hotel which was quite high on the hills, unpacked our bags and moved on to the famous mall road. It was raining and went even colder during the evening. We roamed around to enjoy the locale and came back to hotel for dinner. Next morning we decided to visit Naldehra a golf club that is situated in the hills of Himalayas, and let me tell, that was a bit scary drive. Naldehra has a decent enough golf area which remained closed while our visit as it was raining. But you can sit at the club area for munching and also enjoy the charm of the weather. We returned to Shimla the same evening.

There is another attraction that captures the interest of visitors in Shimla; Jakhoo Temple, which is well commuted by car.

We had to return next morning.

The next enthralling place that took our attention on our way back was Timber trail-Parwanoo. This exotic resort is a must stopover.  The cable cart ride to reach to Timber trail heights was an unmatchable experience. We were fascinated to see such a beauty with a luxury touch in its every facet. It’s a resort in the hills with luxury accommodation, swimming pool, conference rooms, spa, rides and delicious cuisines etc and the most important the freshness in air. As named Moksh, it truly was.

It was a rememberable experience and will be forever.

Alternate ways to Shimla can be through flights or trains to Chandigarh and by bus or taxis.

Heaven On Earth Jammu and Kashmir

While thinking to write about Incredible India, no other place came to my mind but to begin with Kashmir, to start from the start.

Jannat; yes that’s the remark Kashmir leaves on you. I could feel the sensuality of cold breeze while writing about this Switzerland of India in North. Kashmir’s beauty will make you go speechless when you will experience the romanticism of northern valley kissing Himalayas and holding it tightly, creating a tranquil base to eulogise this serene beauty and lets you rejuvenate your senses.

Capital City– Srinagar is the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir and for another six months Jammu enjoys the capital base.

Srinagar– Well this capital will let you enjoy and experience the mountains and valley they are known for but it is also famous for Lakes, Gardens, houseboats, temples, their handicrafts, the ethnic cuisines and the shopping in the city for their unique collections etc. Let me emphasis on some of its main attractions-

Shalimar Bagh– A garden with over a wide range of flora and fountains in its basket is one of the most visited places to allure the nature’s wealth. Build alike other Mughal Gardens with a canal to Dal Lake this place is mentioned as one of a kind in kashmir’s history.

Houseboats and the beauty of Dal Lake– To define a living with a difference, what could be more than houseboats in the midst of Dal Lake. Made with the finest of amenities these houseboats are considered to be the most lavish accommodations in the sea-bed that lets you admire the beauty of the lake in the day and during the night. The pleasure to allure Dal Lake beauty in Shikara is also one of an admirable option.

Gulmarg– Well for me, this is a must visit in your tour to Kashmir. Gulmarg is a hill station in Kashmir which is approx 52 kms from Srinagar. It is a well known tourist place and the major attraction here is Gulmarg Gondala; a cable car that will take you to a divine world. Imagine yourself being in the heart of Glaciers, with the musical sound of cool breeze touching you softly and fill you with the delight of watching a peaceful rendezvous of the mother Earth and the sky. Well it’s here. Kashmir is not heaven in just a word, it is a real paradise.

Jammu– The notion to be surrounded by natural beauty welcomes you here as well but it has more to give. The city of temples has seen tourism uplift for the famous Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. This pilgrimage is in Katra which is 1 hr 30 minutes drive from the city and has seen more than 8 million visitors throughout the year. Taking a drive form katra for approx 3 hrs you will admire the magnificence of Patni Top, a hill station in Udhampur district which is situated in one of the highest mountain range. Being completely away from the city life this snow walk offers you the most peaceful environment for relaxation and binds you with its activities like horse-riding, skiing, photography etc.

The definition of Kashmir is as beautiful as reading a fairy tale. Will share more about the nearby places one can capture in their tour to Kashmir in my next blog.
